San Diego State grad Paige Spiranac, 24, is a professional golfer well known for her tantalizing photos on Instagram. But, last week she was deemed too sexy for the LPGA Tour when they brought in strict new dress code rules.
Spiranac recently spoke out about their decision to bring in new guidelines, which includes no leggings unless under a skirt or short and no jogging bottoms.
She wrote in Fortune: “Take the vague banning of ‘plunging necklines.’”
“What constitutes a plunging neckline? Most likely, this edict was put into place to eliminate the presence of cleavage.”
“In that case, a curvier, fuller-figured woman would be chided and fined far more often than a woman with a smaller bust.”
“In a world where women are continually and unwantedly sexualized, this new rule serves as yet another reason for women to feel ashamed of their bodies.”
“I may not go down in history as the best female golfer to ever play, however my intent is to do whatever I can to grow the game.”
Spiranac has not been alone in speaking out against the dress code. Major-winner Lexi Thompson, who also has a problem with the rule, took to Instagram and mocked the new dress code by posting a picture of herself dressed up like women probably did back in the 1800′s.
Spiranac is a rising golf talent, media personality, and online influencer who’s on a mission to show the world how much fun golf can be.
