The fast-food chain known for having “the meats,” is putting its money where its mouth is this year with the release of venison sandwiches nationwide.
The company announced Wednesday that it will be selling the sandwiches at all 3,300 restaurants nationwide starting on Oct. 21 after having released it in six states last year – Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Georgia.
“The positive response to our limited offering of venison last year was so widespread and passionate that we knew we had to find a way to offer it nationwide,” said Jim Taylor, Chief Marketing Officer of Arby’s, said in a news release.
Last year’s limited-time offering sold out within hours, Arby’s said, and led to requests to roll out the sandwich nationwide. The sandwich will only be available while supplies last and the company expects them to sell out quickly — some locations sold out within 15 minutes.
This year, the company took greater pains to secure enough meat to last a little longer than 15 minutes, but with the ever-present caveat that “quantities are limited.”
The sandwich is made up of a thick-cut venison steak, crispy onions, and a juniper berry sauce on a toasted specialty roll. The venison is marinated in garlic, salt, and pepper.
Arby’s will also be selling a limited-edition elk meat sandwich available in just three locations in Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana. That special meal will also be available on the same day the chain releases the venison sandwich.
The elk sandwich will be available along with the venison sandwich at the following restaurants:
200 East 144th Ave., Thornton, Colorado 80023
2607 CY Ave., Casper, Wyoming 82604
2834 King Ave. W, Billings, Montana 59102
